British Lib Dem sacked for accusing Israel of organ harvesting in Haiti

Israel could be another country benefiting from the disaster in Haiti, believes one British politician. Her views, however, have cost her career in parliament.

A Liberal-democratic health spokeswoman in the House of Lords has been sacked for accusing the Israeli troops of harvesting body parts in the aftermath of the earthquake.

Jenny Tonge said there should be an inquiry into claims that Israeli troops were trafficking organs from Haiti – a statement that led to her dismissal after the party deemed her comments “wrong and provocative”.

It is not the first time Israel has been accused of trafficking human organs. Last year a Swedish newspaper published an article accusing Israeli soldiers of killing Palestinians to harvest their organs.

Israel admitted removing body parts during autopsies in the 1990's without asking the relatives of the deceased, as required by law, but denied every other allegation.
