Libby found guilty

Libby found guilty

Lewis Libby’s defence team say they will seek a new trial after the former Aide to the U.S. Vice President was found guilty of lying to the FBI, perjury and obstructing justice.

The convictions relate to an investigation into the leak of CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity to reporters in 2003.

Libby, the former Chief of Staff to Dick Cheney was acquitted of one count of lying to the FBI.

He could face up to 30 years in prison but is likely to receive a more lenient sentence.
