Gazpromneft Aero to link with Total on fuelling

Gazpromneft-Aero, the aviation fuelling subsidiary of Gazpromneft has linked up to ensure integrated aviation fuel supply and facilities sharing with Air Total International, the subsidiary of French energy major Total.

Under an agreement signed on Tuesday Air Total International will grant Gazpromneft-Aero full access to its airport facilities network, providing the Russian company with refuelling service capacity on new routes in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East, with the French company gaining access to refuelling capacity for itself and partners in Russia.General Director Gazpromneft-Aero, Vladimir Egorov, says the agreement fits in with the company’s expansion strategy, providing access to Air Total contractors around the world. “The agreement with Air Total International allows us to significantly expand the geographic reach of Gazpromneft-Aero and offer airline partners’ convenient terms for supplying fuel at hundreds of airports in Russian and abroad with just one contract. This will give us a major advantage when it comes to maintaining our leading position in the competitive aviation fuel market in Russia,” Air Total International President, Momar Nguer, said the deal would benefit both companies through expanded reach and improved operational performance.“Air Total is a major supplier of aviation fuel in Africa and Europe. Adding Russian airports to the Air Total network is a great step forward for our company and will allow us to significantly expand the network of airports we can offer our clients. Close cooperation between Air Total and Gazpromneft-Aero around the world will open up new possibilities for both companies and raise the level of client service.”Gazpromneft-Aero has operated in the aircraft fuel market since 2008 with an existing geographical network extending to 40 airports of Europe, South-West and Central Asia, Mediterranean, Africa and the Middle East.   According to the company’s 1H 2011 operational report, aircraft fuel sales volumes climbed by 38% to 639 thousand tonnes.  The intermediate-range investment program for 2010-2012 includes expansion of its own fuel-supply complex network and increased market share in the Russian Federation.
