U.S. President to veto Democrats' proposed war spending bill
The U.S. President George Bush said that he would veto the Democrats' proposed war spending bill which is being prepared in Congress where the Democrats took control of the House from Bush's Republican Party in January.
A $ 124 BLN dollar bill would mandate the withdrawal to start as early as July 1 and no later than October 1 with the goal of completing the pullout within the next six months. The Democrats would need a two-thirds majority in Congress to override a presidential veto. The House majority leader Steny Hoyer said the Democrats would ignore the veto threat hoping that the President will change his mind. However, experts say they are unlikely to achieve the support needed.
