The New Black Panthers hunt for Trayvon Martin's killer

A new development in the Trayvon Martin case could cause further pandemonium. This after The New Black Panther Party for Self-Defense is calling for a militia of 5,000 black volunteers to help capture Trayvon’s murderer, George Zimmerman.

“George Zimmerman was not a police officer he was a community volunteer,” said Mikhail Muhammad, Southern Regional Director of the New Black Panther Party.Zimmerman, who is currently in hiding due to the recent events where he gunned down the 17-year-old Martin, has the black political organization vowing to bringhimto justice.“It’s time for us as black men to take justice in our own hands,” said Muhammad just outside the neighborhood where Martin was gunned down.On Sunday a group of around ten members chanted slogan demanding “justice” for the cold blooded murder.“You kill mine god-damn it I got to kill yours” said Muhammad.The black political organization has begun posting flyers calling for Zimmerman’s capture “dead or alive” and is offering a reward of $10,000 to the person who captures him.The group, which has had a strong presence in Sanford, Florida where Martin was gunned down, has been at the forefront of the hunt to find Martin’s killer.The party not only blames Zimmerman for the black teen’s death, but is also attributing the responsibility to Sanford Police and Prosecutor Angela Corey.Corey known as a “hard-nosed” state attorney was selected as the special prosecutor for the case that has gained global attention. Corey carries with her a controversial record for trying more adolescents in adult court than her predecessors in Duval, Clay and Nassau counties.“She’s a liar and a murderer right along with the rest of them. We aren’t pleased with Angela Cory’s appointment,” Muhammadtold Fox News.Many believe that the party’s action could create a dangerous atmosphere in Florida and local law enforcement feels could be make things worse in Sanford."If the government won't do the job, we'll do it," Muhammad concluded.Not everyone in the black community is aligned with the action of The New Black Panthers and many critics believe there is a better way to go about getting retribution for Martin’s death."I think disciplined, persistent, non-violent action works," Jesse Jackson told reporters.Pastor Moses Brown of Tampa acknowledges Zimmerman’s actions weren’t just but he believes “in a message of justice, not hate.”Sanford city officials have also voiced out against the panthers actions and released a statement condemning the group’s demand and are pleading with the citizens to leave the arrests to them.According to an Orlando Sentinel report, "the city is requesting calm heads, and no vigilante justice."
