ESPO to become an oil & gas twin

Transneft and Gazprom say they are studying the possibility of constructing a gas pipeline, parallel to the East Siberia Pacific Ocean oil pipeline. The project is part of a programme to unify the gas production and transportation in the region.

Transneft president, Semyon Vainshtok, has also confirmed that the first phase of the East Siberia Pacific Ocean oil pipeline will be completed before the end of 2008, with 800 kilometres of pipeline already in place.
