Scottish & Newcastle to produce Russian beer in the UK

Britain's brewer Scottish & Newcastle has signed a licensing agreement with its Russian counterpart Baltika Breweries to make the “Baltika 3 Classic” beer in the UK until 2021 which will make Baltika brand more accessible for British consumers

One of Russia's most popular beers, Baltika will be produced in the UK later this year.

Baltika holds a 36% stake in Russia's beer market and it's one of Europe's leading brewers.

“I think what we will see is going forward, perhaps Baltika’s beer is being sold in other areas, maybe supermarkets or retail outlets, not just pubs as it is to be positioned so much as a premium brand and be much more accessible to the everyday consumer,” commented Viktoria Grankina, analyst of Troyka Dialog Group.
