Russian language to get more support : Deputy PM

Editors and publishers of Russian language media have gathered in Paris to examine the challenges of getting Russian more widely used. It has become a priority for Moscow, which sees the thirty million Russians living abroad as torch-bearers for Russian c

The point was reinforced by Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Sergey Naryshkin, when he addressed the International Russian Press Congress.

“We have got more money in the budget to spend on supporting the development of the Russian language and the Russian cultural space. So we will do everything we can to show the importance of the Russian language and Russian culture, so it can be fully appreciated,” Mr Naryshkin said.
