Kazakh President urged to dissolve lower house
The Kazakh Parliament's lower house has asked President Nursultan Nazarbayev to dissolve it and set a date for early elections. The request was made during a joint session of both chambers of Parliament.
It comes after a series of amendments to the country's constitutional law were approved on Monday, including a reduction in the presidential term.
Members of the Lower House say elections are crucial in order to implement the reforms.
