Plane crash in Turkey, 57 dead

A Turkish plane crash in mountainous terrain has claimed the lives of all 57 people aboard, according to Turkish air officials.

The plane has reportedly been found in the Isparta province.

The AtlasJet flight from Istanbul disappeared from radar screens just before it was due to land early Friday.

Friends and relatives have started arriving at the airport where a crisis desk has been set up.

President Putin has expressed his condolences to the President of Turkey, Abdullah Gul.

Meanwhile, there have been two incidents in Moscow airports this morning.

A TU-204 plane coming from Istanbul to Moscow skidded off the runway while landing at Vnukovo airport. None of the 210 passengers on board were injured.

A similar incident happened at Sheremetyevo airport when a DC-10 cargo plane, that was to fly to Germany, taxied 25 metres off the landing strip.
