2 major blasts rock small city in Ingushetia

Two powerful explosions have rocked the city of Malgobek in Russia’s southern republic of Ingushetia.

Eye witnesses say the blasts occurred close to the residential area.

So far there have been no reports of injuries, although the blast led to broken windows in nearby houses.

Police say there were several shootings just hours before the blast, though there is no clear connection between the two incidents.

The city of Malgobek is situated 40 kilometres north of the republic's capital, Nazran.

Small terrorist attacks happen in Ingushetia quite often. Many terrorists have switched attention towards Dagestan and Ingushetia.

A few months ago reinforcements have arrived to help the troops stationed in the republic, but this move is still to have any effect.
