RT AMERICA GOES ‘OFF THE GRID’ WITH NEW JESSE VENTURA SHOW

WASHINGTON, D.C., MARCH 31, 2015 – RT America launches “Off the Grid” on television. The current affairs commentary program is hosted by former governor Jesse Ventura and debuts on Friday, April 3.

Governor Ventura steps into the ring with politicians, journalists and thought leaders for lively debates and in-depth investigations on his new weekly television show “Off the Grid”. Swapping his gubernatorial suit for tie-dyed T’s, Ventura provides his unconventional and thought-provoking opinions on a wide range of topics.

Ventura stated, “Independent viewpoints such as my own are few and far between. I’m thrilled that my show will be aired on RT America, as well as continuing on Ora.TV as my digital home. Stay tuned for my uncensored discussions on the critical issues facing America today – and stay vigilant.”

Filming at an “undisclosed location,” Ventura says he’s “avoiding the all-seeing eyes of American drones.” It’s from there that the Navy veteran turned wrestler turned politician turned media personality sounds off on social injustices, lapses in the system, economic inequality and government surveillance. On his “WWJVD” – What-Would-Jesse-Ventura-Do – segment, the Governor provides answers to the questions posed by the viewers.

"’Off the Grid’ will become yet another platform for independent and alternative viewpoints – something that made our channel popular with American audiences from the start,” said RT editor in chief Margarita Simonyan.

Ventura served 6 years in the US Navy before becoming a professional wrestler. Running on the Reform Party ticket, Ventura won the election for the Governor of Minnesota, an office he held from 1999 to 2003. He has penned five New York Times bestselling books and became a popular television commentator with a refreshing, non-partisan point of view on the issues of the day.

“Off the Grid” will hit the airwaves on Friday, April 3. The weekly program will air Fridays at 6pm EST on RT America, the exclusive worldwide broadcaster for the show. The show will continue to stream online at ora.tv and will be available online on rt.com. Jesse Ventura will also film special coverage segments in RT’s Washington, DC studios.

“Off the Grid” is part of a new lineup on RT America, which includes Watching the Hawks” that premiered on Monday, March 23.
