Mayweather beats Pacquiao in underwhelming bout
Floyd Mayweather Jr defeated Manny Pacquiao in the bout dubbed ‘the Fight of the Century,’ winning the contest on points at the MGM Grand in May.
It was the highest grossing fight in boxing history.
Barcelona win the treble
Catalan giants Barcelona ended the 2014-15 season by winning a momentous treble, with victory over Juventus in the Champions League final in June the ideal conclusion.
Luis Enrique’s men won five trophies in 2015, regaining their place as the world’s best team.
Curry inspires Warriors to NBA glory
Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors to their first NBA title in 40 years, defeating LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-2 in the June series.

Spieth enters golf’s history books
American Jordan Spieth became the youngest golfer to win both the US Masters and US Open in the same year, claiming the latter title in June.

The 22-year-old ended the year as the world’s number one ranked golfer.
Serena Williams claims 6th Wimbledon crown
Serena Williams won her fourth straight major tennis tournament by claiming the Wimbledon crown for the sixth time in July.
The American was robbed of a Grand Slam as she fell to Italian underdog Roberta Vinci in the US Open semi-finals in September.
Bolt defeats Gatlin in Beijing
Usain Bolt claimed gold in the 100m final of the World Athletics Championships in Beijing, beating American Justin Gatlin by 0.01 seconds in August.

Hamilton retains F1 crown
Lewis Hamilton became Formula One world champion by winning a stunning US Grand Prix in October.

The All Blacks became the first nation to retain the Rugby World Cup after defeating Trans-Tasman rivals Australia in a scintillating final at Twickenham in October.
