Catalan giants Barcelona ended the 2014-15 season by winning a momentous treble, with victory over Juventus in the Champions League final in June the ideal conclusion.

Serena Williams won her fourth straight major tennis tournament by claiming the Wimbledon crown for the sixth time in July.

Bolt defeats Gatlin in Beijing
Usain Bolt claimed gold in the 100m final of the World Athletics Championships in Beijing, beating American Justin Gatlin by 0.01 seconds in August.
