Dog breaks out of kennel - and the reason will touch your heart

Motherly love was on display in this Canadian dog motel when one of the furry residents was caught breaking out of her "room" in the middle of the night.

Staff members at the Barkers Pet Motel and Grooming in Alberta city of St Albert captured Maggie’s escape on their security cameras.

Two weeks prior, Maggie’s puppies were taken away from her, but when she heard the cries from two new arrivals Hannah and Kari, she took matters into her own paws.

By moving a strategically-placed water bowl, Maggie managed to squeeze out of her ‘room’. She went over to the puppies and lay down next to them for the rest of the night.

The next day, they got to snuggle together.

Hannah and Kari are up for adoption and, based on the viral reaction to this story, are sure to be in demand.

Maggie has since returned to her family, but may get a couple of playdates scheduled with the puppies in the future.
