Get to learn ‘Islam tolerance’: UAE lawyer has job offer for Obama

An Emirati lawyer from Dubai has offered a job in his law firm to the soon-to-be-outgoing American president so Barack Obama can become “closely acquainted” with the “meaning of tolerance of Islam” once he leaves the White House.

Eisa Bin Haidar made his proposal in Twitter, also promising to pay for the president’s airfare to the Gulf state.

Explaining his move, Haidar said that to understand that Islam is a religion of tolerance, one should travel to the region and socialize with the locals.

“A faction of the American and Western media has constantly profiled Islam as a religion of terror and categorized Muslims as terrorists,” Bin Haidar told Gulf news. “Well that is absolutely not true. Islam is a religion of tolerance, understanding, forgiveness and acceptance … it is not a religion of terror and Muslims are not terrorists.

In another tweet in Arabic, Haidar said he knew his offer was “a bit weird,” but Obama has to “live with Muslims to know them closely and away from political theatrics which are being spearheaded by the US.”

"Once he leaves his office at the White House, I offer President Obama work in my law firm and then he would come and live amongst Arabs and Muslims and learn the exact meaning of tolerance,” Haidar said.

Obama has fewer than 250 days remaining in office.
