‘Doo doo doo doo, right, good’: Cameron hums merry tune after announcing departure (VIDEO)

David Cameron announced he would be stepping down as UK Prime Minister before going on to hum a merry tune as he walked back into 10 Downing Street for one of his final times.

Cameron told reporters he would offer his resignation to the Queen on Wednesday afternoon and Theresa May would be in Number 10 that evening. He then turned his back to the camera with a weight lifted off his shoulders and began to hum a little ditty, apparently unaware his mic was still live.

The outgoing Tory leader can be heard humming happily, “Doo doo doo doo” before ending his tune abruptly, saying, “Right,” and closing the door behind him, adding, “Good.”

Cameron’s bizarre signoff has attracted huge attention online with speculation rife by the Twitterati around what the tune actually was.

Some described it as “quintessentially English” and compared its style to something Winnie the Pooh might sing on an adventure.

And some even came up with tutorials on how to sing Cameron's swansong,” as one Twitter dubbed it.
