Russia's elite debate foreign policy

Russia's political and foreign policy elite have gathered to discuss the future direction of Russian policies. The country's Foreign and Defence Policy Council is dedicated to Russia’s relationship with the West, particularly with NATO, the EU, and the UN

The possible political and military consequences of Georgia and Ukraine joining NATO and Russia's response to the Alliance’s expansion were in focus.

There will be a book published on the results of the discussion.

Sergey Brilev, member of Russia’s Foreign and Defence Policy Council, commented to Russia Today on the session’s outcome.
