Trump denounces ‘media-incited’ protesters in angry Twitter post

Two days since his victory, Donald Trump has taken to Twitter once more, this time lashing out at “professional” protesters, who have been rallying against his election since Wednesday.

“Just had a very open and successful presidential election. Now professional protesters, incited by the media, are protesting. Very unfair!” Trump wrote in a tweet Thursday evening.

Thousands of people have been out in the streets across the US, since Trump won the 2016 presidential race with 290 electoral votes, leaving Hillary Clinton officially behind, although she won the popular vote.

Chanting anti-Trump slogans, such as “not my president” or “we reject president-elect”, people have been occupying streets in cities from California to New York, expressing their displeasure with the presidential race’s outcome.

In March, when his campaign was in full swing, Trump warned of “riots” if he lost the GOP convention, where he ended up being nominated.

"I think you'd have riots,” he told CNN at the time, saying that he was "representing many millions of people” and they would be rightfully angry. Trump’s Democratic rival, Clinton secured 228 electoral votes, which is less than required minimum of 270 votes.

After her emotional concession speech on Wednesday afternoon, Clinton’s supporters set up a defiant hashtag #Imstillwithher.
