Court to decide fate of election in Ukraine

Court to decide fate of election in Ukraine

The appeal court in Ukraine is set to decide whether the country will have to go through a third parliamentary ballot in less than three years. President Viktor Yushchenko officially dissolved the country's parliament last week.

On Saturday, Kiev's district administrative court ruled the election campaign in Ukraine should be suspended, after a legal bid by Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko.

Ukraine's president called the decision illegal, saying only the Constitutional court has the right to decide.

The judge that ruled in Timoshenko's favour is now facing a criminal investigation.
