Moscow - the new 'billionairesville'

According to Forbes magazine, the Russian capital is home to the most billionaires – 74. With three more tycoons, it's now upstaged New York.

The title of the richest Russian billionaire goes to Oleg Deripaska, the aluminium tycoon with a fortune estimated at $US 28 billion. He's ranked as the world's ninth richest man.

The second richest Russian is Roman Abramovich, the governor of Russia’s Chukotka, famous for his lavish purchases, like Chelsea football club. He's believed to be worth $US 23.5 billion.

Next comes the steel magnate Aleksey Mordashov, worth some $US 21 billion.

According to Forbes, in total Russia has 87 billionaires. The magazine also points out that the average age of Russian magnates is around 46, which is much younger than in the rest of the world.
