Car owners object possible ban of right hand drive automobiles

Car owners object possible ban of right hand drive automobiles

Owners of right hand drive cars have held a protest rally in the city of Vladivostok in the Russian Far East. The protesters gathered on the city’s streets with signs on their cars saying “A right hand wheel has its rights”.

The cause of the protest was a draft the State Duma is currently revising which could ban cars with right sided steering wheels. The vehicles will become illegal under new road safety rules. Most car owners in the Russian Far East drive cars imported from Japan.
