Extreme sports elite show off their skills in Russian capital

When it comes to extreme sports Russia is catching up fast with the west, and the summer season sees a whole host of events across the country including the Adrenalin Games in Moscow which has attracted international stars.

It felt like the 7th annual Adrenaline Games festival in Moscow had a statement to make – that the world should be paying more attention to its budding skaters and BMX riders.Indeed, since the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia has been playing catch up with the world in a lot of traditional sports, especially those of the extreme kind. But you wouldn’t think they have far to go, judging by the number of young athletes showcasing their talents.Even though the event was obviously dominated by such Russian hopefuls, there were plenty of foreign talents attracted to the event due to its lofty status.
