Iran test-fires advanced two-stage missile - report
Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced on Wednesday that the country has tested a new modification of an advanced intermediate-range ballistic missile.
The Sejjil-2 surface-to-surface missile has a range of 2,000 km, according to the Iranian national agency IRNA.
It’s a modification of Sejjil missile tested in Iran in November, 2008. Unlike the more known Shahab-3 it has two stages and uses solid propellant. Back then American military experts said they doubted the report.
Ahmadinejad, who is touring the country ahead of the presidential election campaign, said the test was a success.
