Israeli passengers get their brains on track

The professors of Hebrew University in Jerusalem have decided to raise the popularity of Higher Education with the help of an experimental program “Scientists on the rails.” They’ve started to give lectures in trains.

“People should understand the importance of Higher Education,” one of the lecturers claimed.

Professor Hanoch Gutfreund’s first experimental lecture was “The Love letters of Albert Enstein”. It started at 9 O’clock in the morning in the train from Modiin to Tel Aviv. He was citing the correspondence between the scientist and his two wives, and describing the minutiae of Enstein’s private life.

Saying some words about the theme of his lecture, Gutfreund said that the participants of the project wanted to talk about science, but it shouldn’t be boring to the listeners if they were to address to everyone.

He also added that he had never spoken with the public, while a half of the audience had their backs to him.

The passengers were interested in the “performance”, but sometimes it was interrupted by stops and visits from a conductor.

One of the spectators said that this lecture was wonderful and that she would like to attend University, but she had no free time.
