Colsaerts grabs World Match Play Champion’s crown

Belgium's Nicolas Colsaerts has become golf's world match play champion. It all came down to the final hole in Spain against Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell.

Colsaerts started impressively sinking this for eagle at the third, and from this point onwards the Belgian never found himself in arrears.McDowell did square the match on several occasions, including his effort at the fourteenth when he birdied, but could never challenge for the lead. And by the last hole the 29-year-old had two putts to win. It's his second victory on the European Tour, and earns him $700,000 and a place in the world's top fifty for the first time.“I didn't really feel that much pressure because I was 4 down all day, and I could see Paul wanted the match to finish early,'' said Colsaerts, who lost in a playoff to eventual winner Ian Poulter in the 2011 semis.
