Breastfeeding moms take to the streets in protest

The rage and protest was sparked when music shop owner John Rapp allegedly kicked a woman out of his store in Illinois for publically breastfeeding her baby.

Two days following the incident Rapp was faced with a small army of breastfeeding mothers staging what they called a ‘nurse in’ by breastfeeding their babies outside the store.Nichole Eidsmoe claimed Rapp threw her out of the No Strings Attached music store for breastfeeding her 11-month-old daughter. Rapp however denies sending her away or forcing her to cease her breastfeeding. He said he merely asked her to cover up for the benefit of other customers. He insisted he did not ask her to leave.“I merely suggested in the future, because of the clientele that comes in here, she might want to consider covering up,” he said. Eidsmoe recounted the story differently, saying Rapp angrily demanded she leave the store immediately. “If you're going to do that you need to go to a different store you need to leave, or get out. You should have asked to use the bathroom,” she said, recounting what she believed Rapp told her. Rapp called the ‘nurse in’ demonstration uncalled for and a disgrace. “It's a disgrace to have people like that in this town; it's a disgrace to this town. They support peace and they support their rights, but at what cost?” he said. “The consideration for other people is completely demolished.”In Illinois state law allows women to breastfeed in public.
