Russia unlikely to pay back US over AMD plans

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is due to arrive in Moscow for a three-day official visit for talks focusing on Iran's nuclear program, missile defense and the new strategic arms reduction treaty.

According to Dmitry Suslov of the Council for Foreign and Defense Policy, the American side may feel tempted to demand something unofficially from Russia in return to last month’s decision by the Obama administration to shelve its AMD plans.

However, the decision was clearly not a concession to Russia, Suslov says, and the United States may not get what they want.

“It is unlikely Russia will join the US and sanctions [against Iran],” Dmitry Suslov told RT.
