Katyusha continue Five Rings of Moscow domination

International road cyclists marked Victory Day in style as the final 130-kilometer stage of the Five Rings of Moscow race stopped the traffic, on the usually gridlocked Garden Ring.

Russia's Igor Boev of team Katyusha, who was the overall leader after the first four days of the competition, managed to retain that advantage on the final day, claiming victory.Serbia's Ivan Stevic finished second, while Germany's Dirk Mueller rounded off the podium in third place.“I’m happy with second place, because today Boev was stronger than me,” Stevic told RT. “He showed that on the first spring for the bonus. I didn’t lose because I made a mistake, it’s just he was stronger, he’s got fresh legs in the end. What can you do? I’ve won one stage, which was very important for me at Krylatskoe. So I go home happy.”     In both previous years, the event was won by another Katyusha man, Sergey Firsanov. The Five Rings of Moscow is an annual road bicycle stage race held in the Russian capital. It debuted in 1993 and since 2005 has been part of the UCI Europe Tour.
