“Russia having confrontation with US over Middle East inevitable”

Political analyst Ivan Eland from the Center on Peace and Liberty at the Independent Institute in California says Russia's mediation in the Middle East will inevitably lead to a confrontation with the US.

“If you vowing for influence, Russia would bump up against the US, which has also been sort of top mediating in the Middle East. I think you can see a clash of who wants to moderate the conflict and obviously Obama hasn't been very successful, so I think other countries should get involved, because every time the US intercedes, it seems to be more violence after. One of the reasons: the US are too much on Israel's camp. So I think other countries could make the better job,” Eland told RT.
