Improvised Olympic fire lit in Sochi

As the 2010 Winter Olympic Games soon draw to a close in Vancouver, some in Sochi have been going to extraordinary depths to celebrate the passing of the Olympic torch to the Russian coastal city.

It might not be quite as spectacular as Vancouver's closing ceremony, but men dressed as Father Frost took the plunge into the Black Sea to light a torch of their own.

Ten meters underwater they ignited a symbolic Olympic fire – the real one will be burning in their city in four years’ time.

Sochi will host the 2014 Winter Olympic Games – the second Olympics to take place in Russia since 1980.
