Kyrgyzstan mourns plane crash victims

Kyrgyzstan has announced that Tuesday will be a day of mourning for the victims of Sunday's plane crash. Sixty-eight people were killed out of the 90 on board. The Boeing 737 crashed whilst attempting an emergency landin

It is thought the plane had suffered decompression in the cabin shortly after takeoff from the capital Bishkek.

The jet was on its way to Tehran, the Iranian capital. Among those on board were Iranians, Canadians and Chinese.

The plane was operated by the private airline Itek Air and had been in service since 1979. It was said to be in a good state of repair.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has sent condolences to his Kyrgyz counterpart.
