Military commanders face dismissal for failing to stop brawl

Two Russian military commanders may lose their jobs for failing to quickly stop a massive brawl among soldiers.

The incident happened last month and mobile phone footage of it was posted on the internet.

The brutal brawl took place at the military academy just outside Moscow. It lasted for about a half an hour. At least 20 students were involved in this incident.

Aleksandr Selivanov from Moscow State Mining University thinks Russia's army could benefit from team-building exercises.

“What should be suggested here is a set of special measures and a kind of team building and building of the understanding among soldiers – the sense that they are part of the united army – of the Russian army,” he stressed.
