S7 Airlines begins operating under Oneworld alliance banner

S7, Russia’s leading domestic carrier, has commenced offering the full range of services and benefits of the Oneworld alliance and is substantially expanding its network throughout Russia and CIS.

The new membership gives S7 clients expanded services around the world. In particular, S7 members will be able to earn and redeem mileage awards on all Oneworld partners, including American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, LAN Airlines, Malév Hungarian Airlines, Mexicana, Qantas and Royal Jordanian, along with a further 20 affiliated airlines.Former S7 priority Platinum and Gold cardholders will receive oneworld Emerald and Sapphire status respectively and new cards with the Oneworld logo, gaining them access to more than 500 airport lounges worldwide offered by the alliance’s airlines. S7 Priority Silver cardholders will have Oneworld Ruby status.The S7 network include Oneworld’s full and extensive range of alliance fares and sales products, and S7 will add 55 destinations and 9 countries in the region – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.The move to bring S7 into the Oneworld alliance has involved bringing its internal processes and procedures into line with the alliance’s requirements, and extensive employee training and communications programmes at the S7 and the alliance’s existing members.
