Russia’s representative to European Court of Human Rights recalled

Russia has been recalling its representative to the European Court of Human Rights, Pavel Laptev.  According to Vedomosti newspaper some officials claim he submitted a resignation last week.

Pavel Laptev has been in office for 8 years.

A source in the French city of Strasbourg that hosts the court says although the Russian President has not yet signed a decree, the decision is firm.

The reasons have not been named.
