Sergey Medvedev, a political analyst from Higher School of Economics in Moscow, joined Russia Today to speak on the political climate at the G8 summit.

Russia Today: There are a lot of contentious issues at this summit. Do you think we will see any progress at all?

Sergey Medvedev: I think the G8 summit is not really a place for political breakthroughs on those issues that leaders will agree or disagree.
