Pentagon probe against U.S. marines
According to the Washington Post, a preliminary investigation launched by the Pentagon says U.S. marines killed or wounded over 40 Afghan civilians after a suicide attack on one of their convoys.
The marines began shooting at houses, vehicles and other suspected threats for miles around a small village in eastern Afghanistan on March, 4.Although the troops said they had seen people with weapons, the investigation found no evidence of gunfire being directed at the American convoy.The Afghan Human Rights Commission's report says the marines acted illegally.
