Clashes continue following TV station closure in Venezuela

Clashes continue following TV station closure in Venezuela

Four people have been injured in clashes with police during new day of protests following the closure of one of country's oldest TV stations. President Chavez was saying channel RCTV was subversive and promoted immoral values.

His opponents condemned the closure, as an assault on free speech and a blow to democracy.

Police used water jets and tear gas against the protesters. They also fired rubber bullets, injuring students from Carabobo near the capital Caracas.

More violent clashes took place in the capital, where demonstrators raised barricades on some of the streets.
