New Russian atomic Ice-breaker prepares to sail north

Atomic Ice breaker ‘50th Anniversary of Victory’ has been on display in the northern Russian port of Murmansk after finishing its maiden voyage. It was built in St Petersburg and saw its first waters when travelling to Murmansk.

Russia is the only country that has its own civil atomic fleet.

This ship is the biggest and the most powerful Ice breaker in the world. It can deal with ice 3 meters thick. It will serve in the arctic pole transferring crude oil and gas.

The vessel can  be considered ecologically friendly. It's constructors claim: all litter and waste is utilized onboard instead of being dispensed in the water.
