Tension grows as bullets fly in South Ossetia

Shooting has been reported in the Georgian breakaway republic of South Ossetia. It is claimed that shots have been fired from both the Georgian and the South Ossetian sides. There are also reports of a build-up of Georgian troops near the border.

One casualty has been reported so far.  Both the South Ossetia militia and Georgian peacekeeping forces claim they are under attack, but both sides also say they've been ordered not to return fire.

South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity says the Georgian army is moving towards the border of his country, proof that Georgia is preparing for war.  Georgia says the movement of troops is part of an ordinary re-deployment.
