Divers find $US 200,000 watch in Neva

A group of divers in Saint Petersburg have found a $US 200,000 diamond-encrusted watch dropped by a tourist in to the Neva River. It was lying between a stone and metal pipe at the bottom of the river.

The wristband is missing but the mechanism and diamonds remain intact.

The foreign tourist accidentally dropped the limited-edition Hellmuth chronograph into the water last weekend.

The divers brought in special equipment from Russia's Far East on Thursday, saying a search of the riverbed was impossible without it.

The owner had promised a $ US 10,000 reward to the finder.
