Kremlin unveils its treasures

Thanks to a newly released multimedia programme, anyone can take a closer look at all the Diamond Fund treasures, which are kept in the Kremlin.

The State Diamond Fund is a collection of rare gems and jewellery of unusual quality and purity. Dating back to the eighteenth century, the Fund is now open to new technologies.

On display are photos of people wearing the jewellery. But the project mainly gives people a rare opportunity to see museum objects in their environment, outside of the thick armoured glass.

This is especially important in the case of the Diamond Fund – because even the emperors had trouble accessing the precious objects kept inside.
