Iggy Pop and The Stooges: re-united and in Moscow

Reunited Iggy Pop and the Stooges came to Moscow to present their album “The Weirdness” in B1 night club.

B1 night club last night attracted hundreds of fans who have been waiting for this performance for years!

The concert was part of their world tour promoting their latest album “The Weirdness”.

James Newell Osterberg, Jr. is the real name of the 60-year-old musician, also known as the “Godfather of Punk” and “the Rock Iguana”.  He began calling himself Iggy after his first band in high school, The Iguanas. Today, Iggy Pop is a byword for wildness and excess.

He is also famous for his provocative behaviour on stage. He was one of the pioneers of stage diving, which has become very popular among his fans.

He was the lead singer of The Stooges in the '60s and '70s. In 1976 David Bowie offered the solo singer an album deal and his 25-year solo career took off. His best-known songs include “Lust for Life”, “Real Wild Child” and “The Passenger”. The latter is also the name of a film about Iggy Pop, which is currently in production.

In 2003, to the surprise of many, Iggy Pop organized the re-union of the Stooges after more than 30 years apart. They recorded an album “The Weirdness” and hit the road to promote it in May.
