Russian billionaires shake hands on new divorce deal

Magnate Vladimir Potanin is acquiring 100% of the Interros holding company, as he and fellow billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov separate their joint assets.

The two billionaires made their fortunes in the 1990s in the metals and mining industry.

Taking a closer look at where Potanin and Prokhorov stand after the deal:

KM Invest company, which manages joint assets of Potanin and Prokhorov, owns Interros, which in turn manages stakes in Norilsk Nickel, and the gold miner Polyus Zoloto.

But Potanin and Prokhorov also hold major personal stakes in these mining giants.

Prokhorov quit as Norilsk Nickel CEO earlier this year, saying he wants to focus on energy in the future.
