Al Gore shares Nobel prize with UN for climate change work

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change have been named joint winners of this year's Nobel Peace Prize. Both parties were acclaimed for their efforts in spreading awareness of how man is damaging the plan

Earlier this year Al Gore won an Academy Award for his film, “An Inconvenient Truth”, which tackled the issue of global warming.

The United Nations' IPCC was praised for publishing a series of reports highlighting the issue.

Gore said he would donate all of his share of the cash prize to the Alliance for Climate Protection, a non-profit organisation which he founded last year to raise public awareness of climate change.
