Russia hosts first ever Super Motocross

Thousands of fans have flocked to Moscow’s Olympic stadium its first ever international Super Motocross event. The SX Tour World Series has been a firm fixture in the European motor sport calendar for more than twenty years.

Fans in the Russian capital got to watch the high octane sport after ten years of anticipation.

The event at the Olympic Stadium required considerable preparation.

Some 5,000 cubic metres of soil had to be delivered to the Olympic stadium and it took two days to set up what was the largest stage in Europe for Russia's first ever international supercross event.

On the first day of the World supercross series, a crowd of 9,000 watched the top racers through to the finish line.

Topping the bill were the best riders from Europe and North America. And, of course, there was a showbiz element for the crowd to enjoy with riders performing breathtaking stunts.
