Old woman beaten at police station

The Russian newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda” has posted a video on its webpage, of what it claims is a Moscow policeman beating a woman at a police station.

On the film an allegedly drunk woman is arguing with an officer.

The policeman then appears, kicks the back of her chair and hits the woman.

Russia's Internal Ministry says an investigation will be launched if the authenticity of the video is confirmed.

“We have talked to the journalists, asking for the original video. Police experts will check it for authenticity. If it is confirmed, we will then conduct an internal investigation and forward the evidence to prosecutors. We will be tough on the evidence involved. We are always open about such cases. We will inform the media and public of our findings,” commented Interior Ministry spokesman Valery Gribakin.
