Poland willing to discuss AMD with Russia

Poland is willing to listen to Russia's objections to U.S. plans to deploy a missile defence shield in Eastern Europe, according to the Polish Foreign Minister, Radek Sikorski.

In an interview with a Swedish newspaper, the minister said that despite a difference in views, Poland at least has to listen to its neighbour's concerns.

The country's previous government favoured having the base on its territory and hoped to conclude negotiations with Washington this year.

However, the new Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, has promised to consult with NATO and Russia before continuing talks with the U.S.
