Georgia frees Russian ex-peacekeepers

Three former Russian peacekeepers detained by police in the Georgian town of Poti on Sunday have been released and sent home. That's according to CIS peacekeeping officials in the Georgia-Abkhazia conflict zone.

The three had reportedly been dismissed by the Russian military for breaking army rules.

It's alleged the men were on personal business in the area controlled by peacekeepers before being picked up by Georgian officers.

Russian servicemen in the region are part of the Collective Peacekeeping Force. They've been stationed in the zone of the Georgia-Abkhazia conflict since 1994.
