RT TAKES TWO GOLDS AT PROMAX GLOBAL

MOSCOW, JUNE 21, 2013 – RT’s entries overtook contenders from Fox and Universal to take two gold medals at the PromaxBDA Global Excellence Awards 2013 – the most prestigious award in television design and marketing.

Promo for Julian Assange’s interview series on RT, was the winner in the Art Direction & Design: Program Promotion Website category. The top prize in the Entertainment Program Spot category went to the promo for RT’s La Lista de Erick (Erick’s List).

Julian Assange’s 12-part talk show aired exclusively on RT in 2012 and featured interviews with some of the most influential and iconoclastic politicians and thinkers of the day. The program generated a global media firestorm, was reported on by the most prominent publications and hotly debated in a multitude of blogs and on social media platforms around the world. In April 2013 the program took top prize at the New York Festivals in the Documentary/Information Program: Politics television category.

La Lista de Erick airs on RT en Español, RT’s Spanish-language channel.  The program, which features its host exploring the more peculiar aspects of Russian life, competed against the popular cooking competition show Hell’s Kitchen and crime procedural Criminal Minds. 

RT has won several Promax awards in the past. Most recently, RT’s “Occupy W@ll Street” game for Facebook took bronze at the PromaxBDA Global Excellence Awards 2012, in the Online/Interactive Games/Immerging Platforms category.
