TPP activists storm Morgan Stanley office in Washington (VIDEO)

TPP activists storm Morgan Stanley office in Washington (VIDEO)

Activists united against the Trans Pacific Partnership deal disrupted the Washington, DC offices of investment firm Morgan Stanley.

Protesters pushed by the company’s security as they charged their way into the building.

Morgan Stanley is one of many US companies supporting the TPP and has spent almost $10m on lobbying over the past three years.

The investment firm is also a big supporter of the Clinton family, even though presidential candidate Hillary Clinton flip-flopped her position and came out opposed to TPP last month.

After activists left Morgan Stanley, they marched on the Chamber of Commerce, Monsanto's HQ, and the Reagan Office building - obstructing traffic in the area for more than two hours.

Along the way, they had support from an alpaca.

Protesters say the trade deal threatens health care, jobs, the environment, and workers' rights.

Several countries have held secret negotiations including Japan, Canada, Mexico, and Australia - and the deal would trump local control in favor of protecting multinational countries via tariffs, so-called “intellectual property”, and environmental regulations.

Anti-TPP rallies are being held in Washington through the week.
